This basic guacamole recipe doesn’t taste just “basic”– it’s simple, fresh, and phenomenal!  Make this as is or use it as a versatile base for endless guacamole concoctions!

ELEMENTS:

Two ripe large AVOCADOS – peeled, pitted, and chopped

Half a medium RED ONION – chopped or finely diced, depending on your preference

One JALAPENO – rinsed and diced (deseeded and deveined for less heat if desired)

One LIME – juiced (go the extra mile by added some of the lime zest, grated)

Half bunch CILANTRO – rinsed and roughly chopped

Dash of SALT and PEPPER to taste

APPLICATION:

Gently toss all ingredients together in a medium bowl.  You don’t want avocado mush – you want it nice ‘n’ chunky!

TIPS:

BLACK BEAN GUACAMOLE – Add one can of drained/rinsed black beans, one can of drained/rinsed corn, 2 TB red wine vinegar, and a pinch of smoked paprika.

FRESH FRUIT GUACAMOLE – Try adding chopped fresh mango, fresh blueberries, or chopped peaches!
