Juicy, sweet fruit and veg pulverized into a cold, refreshing drink.

Makes 6 Servings or 3 extra-large Servings

Elements:

Two ripe BANANAS

Two cups of ORANGE JUICE  (I prefer the fresh kind not from concentrate)

One-quarter cup of SOYMILK  (can use COCONUT MILK, NON-DAIRY YOGURT, or RICEMILK)

One to two pounds of FRESH PINEAPPLE, peeled and cut into large chunks  (can use frozen or canned if needed)

Hefty handful of BABY CARROTS, chopped small if your blender can’t handle larger chunks  (can use full-size carrots, peeled and chopped of course)

Approximately four cups of FROZEN WHOLE STRAWBERRIES

Two tablespoons of GROUND FLAX SEED

CHIA SEEDS for garnish

Application:

Layer ingredients in the order listed above, minus the chia seeds.  Start blending on a low speed, then blend on high until smooth.  Add more liquid or ice as needed.

Pour into cups and sprinkle chia seeds on top before serving.

Tips:

Fruit smoothies like this will last in the fridge overnight if stored in an airtight container.

Throw in some rinsed baby spinach for added pow!  A hefty handful never hurts the flavor…just makes the color a little off.  😉
